Revision hip replacement
- Loose and worn hip replacement
- Revision hip replacement
A modern Hip replacement is expected to last for 15 years. However, over time, a hip replacement will wear away and may become loose; this causes pain.
A revision total hip involves the previous hip replacement being removed and a new prosthesis (hip replacement) inserted. The procedure is more complex and takes longer than the original hip replacement, and recovery is also longer since the soft tissues around the area need more time to settle down.
